My Review
Nick of Time is another of Tim Downs’ books in the Bug Man series. Nick Polchak is not only a professor he is a forensic entomologist, better known as the Bug Man. He had me from the beginning because of the wedding plans. Will women ever figure out that men do not like to plan a wedding? Nick was a very funny, sarcastic  and sometime arrogant character. And obliviously had no idea about the feelings of his future wife, or he would not have run off on a murder case a week before the wedding.
As for his dog trainer future wife Alena, bet he had no idea she would come looking for him after he fail to call her after being gone for several days, but he found out she would! She knows how Nick is, that when he is on a case, nothing can stop him. He will go anywhere he thinks the case is leading, no matter the trouble it causes him. She knew he wasn’t afraid to speak his mind, which lead him to nights in jail, in dangerous situations, and made him really look like the bad guy, when he really was not.
In this new case Nick was following, he was trying to find who murdered an old friend. One lead led to another until Nick was just about to break the case, and Alena had stumbled across information that landed her in trouble as well. But then, the part I loved most about the book was a huge unexpected twist in the cold case Nick is following. All I can say is it was amazing. And yes, you have to read the book to find out.
This was my first book by Tim Downs, and it will not be my last. I love suspense, and this was totally a suspense story. I love the characters the author created, and the professions and personalities he gave them. His writing is phenomenal; he keeps you on the edge of your seat. I read this book in a day, just couldn’t put it down.
I was disappointed at the lack of Christian content since it is listed as a Christian fiction. Though it was a good clean book to read, and I really enjoyed reading it, and I will be reading Tim Downs’ books again. I would recommend this book to anyone liking suspense and mystery books. You won’t be disappointed.
