With his sheriff pushing for a quick conviction, some unexpected leads complicate the investigation, and pursuing the truth puts Landon’s career in jeopardy.
When Piper launches her own investigation, Landon realizes he must protect her from herself–and whatever complications await as the two follow clues deep into Canada’s rugged backcountry. Not only does their long friendship seem to be turning into something more, but this dangerous case is becoming deadlier with each step.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

. Deputy Landon Grainger loves the McKenna family but he has to find out the truth. Is Gage McKenna guilty or not? Not satisfied with the police investigation, Piper launches her own, stopping at nothing, and listening to the advise of no one. Will Gage be found guilty? Read this book and find out the answer.
I enjoyed  McKenna family. There was a lot of suspense and tension and this kept my attection. But I didn't care of Piper, she acted like a spoiled brat that was determined to get her way. Since she is not an investigation, does not work for the police force, why would everyone let her keep doing as she pleased? Including Deputy Grainger?  I didn't find Piper's character that believable because the way she acted just sounded fake.

The House That Love Built

The House That Love Built

by Beth Wiseman

Book Description

Brooke has only loved one man, her late husband. Owen’s rebuilding after a painful divorce. Can a mysterious house bring them together for a second chance at love?

In the charming town of Smithville, Texas, Brooke Holloway is raising two young children on her own, supporting them by running the family hardware store. The last thing on her mind is falling in love. But she’s intrigued when a stranger moves to town and buys the old Hadley mansion. She’s always heard that house holds a secret—maybe even a treasure—and she can’t wait to see inside. When she meets the new owner and they spend time together, she can’t deny the attraction. Could God be giving her another chance at happiness? Or is she betraying her late husband’s memory by even thinking that way?

Owen Saunders bought the Hadley place to spite his cheating ex-wife. She’d always wanted to restore an old house in Smithville. Now he’s going to do it without her. But if anything needs restoration, it is Owen’s heart. Then he meets Brooke and her kids and finds himself tempted by love. Can he bring himself to trust a woman again?

Throw an eccentric uncle into the mix, along with the town’s teenage troublemaker, and even a finicky cat—and one thing becomes clear: God is bringing them all together for a reason.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK
When I see Beth Wiseman's name on a book, I know it is going to be an awesome read. I love her Amish books, but I am enjoying the contempory fiction she is writing as well! In The House That Love Built, the characters are realistic and believable and I enjoyed getting to know them better as the story unfolded. Beth had a strong faith in God, and she showed this faith through the many struggles she faced. And she was able to help Owen with struggles with his faith as their friendship progressed. I did feel for Beth as she struggled with the situation with her dad, because she was clearly hurt by him.
This is a story of love, faith in the Lord, forgiveness and second chances. If you are looking for a good clean entertaining story, this one is for you.

Silent Night: A Rock Harbor Christmas Novella...By Colleen Coble

Silent Night:

A Rock Harbor Christmas Novella

By Colleen Coble
Published by Thomas Nelson

Book Description

As Christmas day nears, Bree and her faithful search-and-rescue dog Samson follow the trail of a troubling mystery into the snowy forests of Rock Harbor.

Bree Matthews is preparing for Christmas guests, but her heart is reeling from the recent and tender loss of her unborn child. Her sister-in-law, Lauri, suddenly turns up on the doorstep of the lighthouse home Bree shares with her husband, Kade, in Rock Harbor. Secretive and withdrawn, Lauri seems curiously intent on discovering what happened to a parachuter who disappeared in the North Woods along Lake Superior's icy shore.

As Bree and Samson, her search-and-rescue dog, plunge into the search, Bree wonders if Lauri may know more than she’s admitted about the parachuter. And then the clues lead them to the trail of a young woman whose family fears the worst about her disappearance.

Will the search on this snowy, silent night lead Bree and Samson to more than clues about the missing girl? And will Bree’s prayer for a baby ever be answered?

MY REVIEW

Wow, I loved reading about Bree, Kade, Samson and their family again! The Rock Harbor Series is one of my favorite series. It was really neat to read about a more mature Lauri too, since Kade had so many problems with her before. I just enjoyed the entire story! And this story is just what we have learned to love and expect from Colleen Coble! I hope for more visits back to Kade and Bree and Bree's search and rescue dog, Samson.
