On Tour with Prism Book Tours
We hope you enjoyed the tour! If you missed any of the stops you'll find snippets, as well as the link to each full post, below:
Launch - Author Interview
What inspired you to write the Land of Twilight Trilogy?
I am a child of divorce and know how difficult it can be to navigate the issues that accompany divorce. I also know that my faith in Jesus is what brought me through severely difficult times in my childhood. It is for these two reasons that I wrote this trilogy. I want kids to know they are not alone and that they have an ever-present Help to rely on and rest in.
Locks, Hooks and Books - Excerpt from Journey to Twilight
Moving to Phoenix, Arizona felt like the worst thing that could happen to Lorna. Leaving her home and friends in California was the hardest thing she’d ever done in her life.
"This story has some fun mythical characters and Twilight is an interesting place. I like the friendship that built between Sam and Lorna. I really like the illustrations. They are awesome. . . . The characters are well-developed and it's easy to feel their emotions. . . . I recommend this book to everyone who enjoys a great adventure."
Hearts & Scribbles - Excerpt from Journey to Twilight
Lorna looked down and saw that the ground was as blue as a sky on a clear day. She grabbed a clump of grass and dirt. It felt like grass and dirt, but the color was all wrong. And the sky? The sky was green like the color of summer grass. Looking at the sky was a lot like looking at the world through a green glass bottle.
Remembrancy - Excerpt from Return to Twilight
Jenny turned her attention to a pack of six chocolate doughnuts sitting on the shelf in front of them. Flicking her hair from her face, she stared back at Lorna. “I dare you to put those doughnuts in your bag and walk out.”
Lorna frowned. “What do you mean…without paying?”
Splashes of Joy - Excerpt from Return to Twilight
Lorna sighed. Warm tears slid down the sides of her face. She felt lonelier than she had ever felt in her entire life. Sam knew she’d mistreated him. He was no longer her friend, and now Jenny was ignoring her, too. Ally hadn’t written or called her in over a month. She was probably loving her new town and school. She’d probably long forgotten Lorna wasting away in Phoenix. She had no one.
Wishful Endings - Excerpt from Return to Twilight
Lorna wiped her eyes with her free hand and smiled at her grandmother. “You can’t always be with me, grandma. I haven’t seen you for so long!”
Grandma Nila smiled and shook her head. “I’m not talking about me, Lorna Loon, although I will be with you as much as I can. I’m talking about the Savior. He is always with you, not just in places like this.”
Christy's Cozy Corners - Excerpt from Trouble in Twilight
Stealing a quick, concerned glance at Sam, Lorna asked, “What are you talking about, Trix? What is the Whatever?” Lorna made quote marks with her fingers.
“The Land of Twilight is dying. The Whatever has taken over and Twilight is dying!”
"It was so good from the first moment Lorna is introduced to Sam being introduced. I loved every moment of it. Ms. Hafen did a great job of spinning this tale. I am giving this novel five stars and recommend it to any parents that think that their child would love this book."
Hallie Reads - Excerpt from Trouble in Twilight
“What did you mean when you said that the Whatever is invisible to those who have no faith? Faith for what?” Lorna hung on to this question as if it where the last one she would ever get to ask. She couldn’t get it out of her mind.
"Each book is filled with lively characters that boys and girls will be able to relate to, they also go through many of these situations that our youth today are going through . . . Truly inspirational books for young kids today! I would highly recommend this whole series!"
Reading Is My SuperPower from Trouble in Twilight
“That’s Socrates! Oh my gosh! I can’t believe this.” Lorna was more excited than she’d been in days. Things were getting good. Would a mystery be revealed in the darkness?

Grand Finale One Little Lie in y Collen Coble

On Tour with Prism Book Tours
We hope you enjoyed the tour! If you missed any of the stops you'll find snippets, as well as the link to each full post, below:
Launch - Author Interview
What was the inspiration for ONE LITTLE LIE and for this new Pelican Harbor series?
I was at a restaurant in Gulf Shores, AL with friends. Their 16-year-old son mentioned he’d been working on a shrimp boat. He said, “You wouldn’t believe the stuff we bring up in the nets. Washing machines, other appliances, you name it.” I immediately had the image of a shrimp net hauling up a body clad in a wedding dress, and that was the nugget that started One Little Lie.
"This was truly a suspenseful "page-turner" with drama, lots of action, and situations which keeps the reader guessing who the "good guys" and the "bad guys" really are! . . . The characters are portrayed so well, one will tend to forget this is fiction."
Heidi Reads... - Excerpt
She turned toward the coffee shop and bumped into a man who reached out to steady her. “Sorry, I wasn’t watching where I was going.”
His eyes crinkled at the corners as if smiling was his usual expression, though his lips were flat now. He towered over her five feet two inches, and she guessed him to be six foot. His shaved head made his large brown eyes even more expressive and compelling, and he exuded controlled energy and power under his very attractive surface. His muscular arms and face were tanned as if he’d spent a lot of time in the sun. Her immediate attraction to him made her take a step back. She steered clear of relationships. Losing someone you cared about hurt too much.
Those dark eyes smiled down at her. “You’re Jane Hardy.”
"One Little Lie is the first book in the Pelican Harbor series, and after reading this one I certainly cannot wait to read the next book. . . . I enjoyed getting to know the characters in this book and I thought that they were interesting, relatable, and people I could see in real-life situations. Colleen Coble is one of my go-to authors . . . and she certainly came through again with this great book."
"I have read a few of the author's books and enjoyed them. . . . The plot was predictable but, had a few surprises. . . . I did enjoy the book . . ."
"This was one of those stories that compelled me to keep turning the pages. There were so many questions to be answered and lots of secrets to be uncovered. . . . The chemistry between Jane and Reid was there and I enjoyed the suspense . . ."
Kimber Li - Excerpt
Jane parked her SUV in the driveway behind the flashing lights of a patrol vehicle and got out, the rising sun glaring into her gritty eyes. The call to investigate another body had sent her straight to her vehicle without a shower. Two bodies in twenty-four hours . . .
Was she really equipped for this job?
She let Parker out of the back before she walked toward the shotgun house with its neat spring flower beds lining either side of the red front door. She spotted a woman standing off to one side with her arms clutched around her. It was probably the neighbor who’d made the 911 call, and Jane would talk to her next.
A figure moved in the brush at the side of the house, and she caught the shine of something metallic. A gun? She pointed at the bush. “Take down, Parker!”
"Wow, there was a lot going on in this book! I loved the first chapter of the book which really set the stage for the rest of the story. It gave me an instant connection to emotion and really peaked my interest. . . . The intensity ramps up slowly but I could feel it happening. It's exactly what you want to feel when reading this type of book."
I'm Into Books - Spotlight
“Did you need something from me?”
He spread out his hands. “Look, I could shout up to you from the street, but I’d like to come up and talk to you.”
The lights were on next door. What could it hurt to have a private conversation? She wasn’t afraid of him. She gestured to her left.
“There are exterior stairs off the alley. I’ll open the door for you.”
He nodded and moved that direction, and she went inside to open the door in the kitchen. The iron stairs clanged as he ascended them, and for some reason, the sound made her pulse jump. Maybe this was a bad idea.
"Over the years, I’ve read many of Colleen Coble’s books and have enjoyed them immensely. She never ceases to amaze me with her ability to come up with new stories. One Little Lie is another example of her superb writing. . . . One Little Lie is filled with well-written characters, and you’ll love reading their stories. . . . The book’s pacing is perfect for a suspense novel. You’ll be frantically reading to find out how all of the clues fit together."
Uplifting Reads - Review
"This one starts out with a bang, gripping you from the first page . . . I did enjoy the story. I kept my attention during a time of a lot of uncertainty in the world and was a welcome distraction."
"Right off, from the prologue, the novel grabbed me . . . While others could feel bogged down by all that is going on in it, Coble has found a way to make it all work and carefully weave it together. The cases, the people – every little bit. It’s a wild roller coaster of a [read]."
"This was my first ever read from Colleen Coble and just wow! I was blown away by the writing, the flow and the themes within the story. I loved the way everything unfolded as the story progressed and that ending was superb!"
"Overall, I thought the premise of the novel is fantastic and unlike [any] other book I have read. I found the characters fascinating and well developed and I started to care what happens to the them, basically I just want them to have the happiness they so richly deserve. A great book to read in one day or over a weekend."
Wishful Endings - Spotlight
"I have read nearly all of Ms. Coble’s books. She is a wonderful storyteller and infuses her tales with mystery, suspense, romance, and faith. . . . In the end, most things wrapped up nicely."
Hallie Reads - Excerpt
Will’s smile could light up a football stadium. The boy wore a Saints cap backward, and he slung two camera bags onto his shoulders as he exited Reid’s SUV outside the police station. A tripod stuck up out his backpack.
A pelican fluttered down the strut on the grass by the road, and Will pointed it out. “Look at that!”
“No fish here in town.” Reid locked his vehicle. “You don’t look eager or anything. This will be hard work.”
Will bounced a little on his flip-flops.
“It’s going to be great, Dad. I know I can do it. Thanks for giving me a chance.”
"Overall, this has everything that I have come to love from Colleen Coble--- great suspense, unexpected twists, themes of faith and yes, romance too. It was a great start to this new series and I cannot wait to see what happens next. Current fans of Colleen Coble will certainly want to add it to their collection, and new readers are sure to fall in love too!"
"This is such a strong book to begin a new series of hers. The characters were absolutely delightful and relatable. Moreover, she tackles a hot topic now that seems to make its way into popular culture on a regular basis–cults. I appreciate the fact that she, a solid Christian author, tackles such a timely subject, while still including twists, turns, and the gospel message. . . . Fair warning, however. Once you start the book, I promise you WILL NOT want to put it down!"
Splashes of Joy - Spotlight
"One Little Lie is so intriguing and has many twists and turns in this wonderful story that I just couldn't put the book down. . . . Colleen Coble sure knows how to grab your attention and keep it there. Her writng style is fantastic! . . . I wasn't at all disappointed with this novel. It had a little bit of everything in it and just right amount too. Nicely done."

Book Title:  CRACK THE CODE: 10 Proven Secrets that Motivate Healthy Behavior and Inspire Fulfillment in Men Over 50 by Louis Bezich
Category:  Adult Non-fiction 18 yrs +,  302 pages
Genre:  Men’s Health / geared towards Men Over 50
Publisher:  Somo Press, LLC
Release date:   November 2018
Format available for review:  print, mobi (for Kindle), epub, pdf
Will send print books out:  USA
Tour dates: Apr 13 to Apr 24, 2020
Content Rating:  G: No sex, violence, or bad language. Written for men over 50, or their wives.
Book Description:
“Crack The Code” presents an unconventional, motivation-based approach to health for men 50 and over. Ten strategies for creating and maintaining inspiration for a healthy lifestyle are advanced from a platform of survey research, interviews and the author’s personal experiences. Primary audiences for the book are men over 50 and the people that love them; their wives, partners, children and grandchildren. Additional audiences include health care providers, insurers, policy makers, men of all ages who want to find motivation for healthy behavior and anyone who has struggled with their health.
Asserting that without motivation no diet, exercise program, technology or other strategy will produce sustained results, “Crack The Code” describes how healthy-living men, one of the most health-challenged segments of the American population, exhibit a strong cognitive association between their life’s priorities and their behaviors; a catalytic awareness in which men often integrate their valued relationships into their health behaviors (they take walks with their wife). What the author terms Male Cognitive Behavioral Alignment. The secret sauce of male motivation outlined in the book is derived from a nationwide survey of 1,000 healthy-living men. “Crack The Code” translates the findings into strategies and tactics with actionable exercises.
Personal stories from interviews and focus groups add practical insights and emotion that engages readers. A discussion of relevant theories from psychology, management science and the fields of decision making and behavior change anchor the model in a context of well-established thinking. “Crack The Code” concludes with a call to action for a new culture of men’s health, outlining a confluence of social, economic and political factors in the US and beyond that represent a tipping point where healthy behavior among 50 plus men will become the new norm. Crack The Code’s focus on motivation and the psycho-social underpinnings of behavior fills a gap in a market dominated by publications on traditional diet and exercise. By digging deeper and using everyday men as a source, “Crack The Code” breaks new ground for a burgeoning segment of the baby-boomer population that is in desperate need of help. The potential to influence men of other ages as well as health care providers, insurers and policy makers, creates a tremendously valuable read.

MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK

Crack the Code author Louis Bezich gives men over 50, 10 Proven Secrets that Motivate Healthy Behavior and Inspire Fulfillment. In this book, the author digs deep into the statistics and findings about the health and well being of men over 50 years of age. And gives this age group the motivation the need to use these 10 steps and live a healthier and happier life.
This is a well written book, and it is very clear how much the information is researched for this book. The author also interviews many healthy men this age to get their input on how they stay healthy and deal with age. It seen that a lot of what author Louis Bezich found is men who exercise, eat healthy and make healthy choices are able to hit their 50’s with a bang and maintain these 10 secrets found that will keep up their health and well being. The key is to implement these 10 steps with determination and strength as they live their daily lives.
If you are in this age group, or if you are standing at the threshold of your 50 years, this is definitely a book you want to check out. What can it hurt? And you never know, you may find you are already doing a lot if these things, or, you may find a whole new lifestyle that will keep you healthier, make you feel better, and have the happiness you need. I have someone in mind to give this book too. When I was reading through these 10 secrets, I had just the person in mind that would be getting this book. This would make a great gift to someone on your 50’s list!
A special thanks to the author/publisher for a copy of this book. I am not required to write a positive review, the opinions here are mine alone. I am disclosing this with my review in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255.

One Little Lie (Pelican Harbor #1) By Colleen Coble Christian Contemporary Romantic Suspense Hardcover, Paperback, Audiobook & ebook, 352 Pages March 3rd 2020 by Thomas Nelson
It started with one little lie. But Jane Hardy will do everything in her power to uncover the truth in this gripping new romantic suspense.
Jane Hardy is appointed interim sheriff in Pelican Harbor, Alabama, after her father retires, but there's no time for an adjustment period. When her father is arrested for theft and then implicated in a recent murder, Jane quickly realizes she's facing someone out to destroy the only family she has.
After escaping with her father from a cult fifteen years ago, Jane has searched relentlessly for her mother—who refused to leave—ever since. Could someone from that horrible past have found them?
Reid Bechtol is well-known for his documentaries, and his latest project involves covering Jane's career. Jane has little interest in the attention, but the committee who appointed her loves the idea of the publicity.
Jane finds herself depending on Reid's calm manner as he follows her around filming, and they begin working together to clear her father. But Reid has his own secrets from the past, and the gulf between them may be impossible to cross—especially once her father’s lie catches up with him.

Excerpt
“Mr. Alexander? This is Christine Elliott, managing director of the Parent Portal…”
The woman didn’t bother with hello. Had apparently recognized him on her caller ID. He’d had no idea the number she’d left had been to her private phone. He’d been expecting to speak with a receptionist.
“Thank you for calling back so expediently,” she said. “I’ll be as brief as possible.”
She’d said it was important. Figured they were going to honor his brother posthumously for all of the volunteer hours he’d put in, beyond residency requirements, when the clinic had just been getting up and running. He’d let Elaina know and have her call the clinic. It was her the clinic would need to speak with.
The fourth truck pulled in. Two more and he’d be set for the day. He still hadn’t said a word. The woman just continued talking.
“I have a request for contact, and the matter is urgent…”
He’d been watching a couple of workers get out of their trucks…one punched the other on the shoulder and laughed. Brothers. Wood’s gut lurched.
“A request for contact?” He wasn’t sure he’d heard her right.
“From your sperm recipient…”
Turning away so that the parking lot was no longer in view, he shook his head. “What now?”
“Your sperm donation was used four months ago, Mr. Alexander, and fertilization was successful. The recipient is currently four months pregnant and needs to speak with you.”
His sperm. It took a few seconds for him to even figure out what she was talking about. To remember years back—when his brother had first started at the clinic. They’d needed sperm donors, and Peter had hit Wood up. Always willing to help his younger brother, to support him, Wood had been fine with the donation—not so much with the pounds of paperwork he’d had to fill out. Most particularly when it came to education and occupation.
“I quit high school when my mom died so that I could go to work and support my brother,” he said now, as much to himself as to the managing whatever she was. “No one was ever going to choose me as her donor.”

Harry loves to race around the streets of Dog Town. When he stumbles upon the lost city of cats, he finds himself in a race against Dog Town’s fastest canine, Grizzly. The winner of this race will have the power to save Cat World, or destroy it. Harry wants to win, but there is one small problem. The race is in the ocean, and Harry is terribly afraid of water. Can Harry overcome his fear of the water and save Cat Town?
Read an Excerpt HARRY snapped himself out of the trance. “Run!” he yelled, and every dog did exactly that. But they took off in a disorderly fashion, like a handful of wound-up toys had been released onto a slippery surface. Kevin started running first, but he became caught up in chasing his tail. He twirled and twirled, creating a mini tornado. Teena barked so violently she propelled herself backwards. She only managed to stop when she bumped up against a six-foot-high stack of hubcaps. The metal discs came hurtling toward the dogs at an alarming speed. Harry saw Teena jump out of the way. Then she reached for Pablo’s collar. She tugged and tugged, but her brother’s feet might as well have been concreted to the ground. “Pablo!” Harry urged. He cried out again, more urgently this time. “Pablo! Run!” Pablo stared at the big dogs as though he was hypnotised. “Pablo!” Teena cried, pulling harder on his collar. By now, Kevin’s mini tornado had taken on a life of its own. Wispy tendrils clutched madly at anything in reach, but they grasped only air. Seemingly angered by this, the vortex pulled itself into the shape of a bowling ball and made a beeline for Pablo and Teena. About the Author:
