The Ginnie West Collection

Book 1: THE SECRET SISTERS CLUB

Twelve-year-old BFF’s Ginnie West and Tillie Taylor, want to be sisters. Ginnie’s widowed dad plus Tillie’s divorced mom could equal a lifetime of round-the-clock girl talk and slumber parties. Too bad Dad vowed to never marry again. Ginnie and Tillie come up with the perfect scheme to change his mind: ‘Operation Secret Sisters’ (aka OSS). After all, if they can’t get Dad to move on, Tillie can’t move in.
Things get more complicated when Ginnie stumbles across her mom’s hidden journals. Ginnie can finally get to know the mother she doesn’t remember and her dad doesn’t talk about—if Dad doesn’t take them away.

Book 2: TROUBLE BLOWS WEST

Putting her body in motion before her brain is in gear creates a mountain of problems for 12 year-old Ginnie West. She is certain that defending her twin brother, Toran, from the biggest bully in sixth grade was the right thing to do. But Ginnie couldn’t be more wrong. She quickly learns that Toran doesn’t appreciate being rescued by a girl any better than Pierce likes being knocked down by one.

When Pierce seeks revenge on Ginnie, Toran sets aside his anger and helps her plot a payback prank at Pierce’s house. Sadly, Ginnie learns that Pierce has a reason for being a bully when she sees his dad drop him to the floor like a ragdoll. Realizing he’s a boy in big trouble, Ginnie decides to be his ally, because he won’t let her be his friend.

Book 3: SIMPLY WEST OF HEAVEN

Twelve-year-old BFFs Ginnie and Tillie are matchmaking geniuses. Sweet! Not long after they schemed to get Ginnie’s widowed dad to fall in love with Tillie’s divorced mom, Ginnie stumbled upon her late mom’s journals, making life even more awesome sauce … until her dad confiscated the journals, determined to protect Ginnie from a danger he won’t name.

Ginnie is counting on her future sister’s help to make Dad change his mind, but Tillie’s not so sure the ghost of Ginnie’s mom will make a good addition to their new family tree. The girls’ world gets flipped upside-down when a blast from the past shows up and makes Tillie go nutburgers. Ginnie is torn between helping her best friend and what could be the answer to her deepest wish.

More from Monique

Hello Everyone,

Welcome to the Kickoff of The Ginnie West Collection (Books 1, 2, and 3) of the Ginnie West Adventures series. This omnibus edition includes The Secret Sisters Club, Trouble Blows West and Simply West of Heaven.

The series starts with The Secret Sisters Club and introduces the reader to 12-year-old best friends, Ginnie West and Tillie Taylor. Ginnie’s mother died when she was 3 ½ in a tragic accident and Tillie’s birth dad hit the road 6 years before the series starts.

Tillie, especially, wants a “whole” family again and who would make a better sister than her BFF? When she suggests to Ginnie that their parents would also benefit by marrying, their scheme, Operation: Secret Sisters is formed.

Things get more complicated when Ginnie discovers a box of her dead mom’s journals and reads one, getting to know the mother she doesn’t remember and her dad doesn’t talk about. Discovering the journals brings up questions and feelings that Ginnie didn’t expect and she struggles to reconcile her desire to know her real mom and while caring about her “new” mom.

Trouble Blows West takes a complete turn from Book 1 when the biggest bully in 6th grade goes after Ginnie’s twin brother, Toran,  and results in Ginnie knocking the bully, Pierce, on his rear in front of the whole student body in the  cafeteria on page 2. Things get more complicated when the reader realizes that Pierce is being abused at home. Ginnie doesn’t find out right away—but when she does, Ginnie, Toran, and Tillie decide to become Pierce’s allies—because he won’t let them be his friends. Trouble Blows West is a story of kids on the opposite sides of many issues who try to come to some peaceful understandings.

Because of her great influence in my life, I made my high school creative writing teacher, Mrs. Marion Joyce Johnson, a character in this book years ago. A fun happenstance has recently occurred. Mrs. Johnson’s real life son is Col. Greg Johnson, pilot and astronaut for the Space Shuttle Endeavor. I reached out to Greg who read: Trouble Blows West and fell in love with Ginnie and her family. He has graciously written a Foreword for the book.

Simply West of Heaven starts three weeks after The Secret Sisters Club ends. The one thread that wasn’t reconciled in Book 1 is resolved in this book—and the thread opens up a whole lot of possibilities of fun and new adventures for Ginnie, Tillie, and the Wests. This book has my four best twists and guarantees the reader lots of surprises as the story unfolds. Hopefully readers will want to continue to read about Ginnie and Tillie in Book 4: Being West is Best.

The Ginnie West Adventures series truly is a labor of love for me. I enjoy sharing the West family and their stories with new and longtime readers. I especially love it when readers share with me their experiences of finding courage and peace to overcome their own trials and share those stories with me. I hope to empower and uplift my readers and love it when they connect with me.

Laugh lots … love much … write on!

Monique Bucheger

The Secret Sister’s Club is about best friends  Ginnie and Tillie. I enjoyed reading about these two wonderful character and all of the fun they had as friends. The author does a really good job of writing a sweet book that is great for teens and pre-teens to read. I was so glad when Ginnie found her mother's journals and was able to learn about her real mom and her life, especially since her dad never talked about her mom and that part of their life. I know if I was in her place, I would want to read journals my mom left behind. So this was a special part of the story for me. I give The Secret Sister's Club Five Stars.

Trouble Blows West  is very different than the first book in this series. Gennie is now 12 years old and when the school bully is after her brother, she decides to take control and knock bully Pierce on his rear end. But Gennie's brother wasn't too happy about this. Again author Monique Bucheger creats fun loving characters to add to the ones we know from the first book in this series. I loved that Gennie took care of the bully like she did. But yet I can see why her brother was so upset. You just can't have your sister jumping in on your problems if you are a boy. And their dad did the right thing in taking care of it. This is a Five Stars for me!

Simply West of Heaven starts a few weeks after Trouble Blows West, and we see more of Ginnie, Tillie and Toran and journey with them through this book. As Gennie is more interested in finding out more about her mom, more questions are ask and we began to see with Gennie secrets that surface, making tension tight. I think the author does a great job with this book. This is by far my favorite of the series. There is a lot of emotions flying around in this book. Gennie is not sure she wants to share her dad. Could that be a little jealous streak we see in her? I give Simply West of HeavenFive Stars.  Again, lots of fun reading in this third book as we follow Gennie and her journey. I'm looking forward to the 4th book in thr series.

This is am amazing series, and if you are looking for books for your pre-teen and older child, this is a series you should consider. I give the entire series a Five Stars!!

A special thanks to the author/publisher for a copy of this book. I am not required to write a positive review, the opinions here are mine alone. I am disclosing this with my review in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255.

On Tour with Prism Book Tours

We hope you enjoyed the tour! If you missed any of the stops you'll find snippets, as well as the link to each full post, below:

Launch - Note from the Author

Welcome to a world loosely based upon a classic fairy tale but wrapped up in snowy holiday magic. FAIRYTALE CHRISTMAS WITH THE MILLIONAIRE is the modern day retelling of Cinderella…and did I mention it includes an adorable cat named Prince? . . .

Cover Lover Book Review - Review

"Fairytale Christmas with the Millionaire fills so many boxes. It contains a fabulous fairytale feel (say that three times fast!) a wonderful Cinderella retelling, and a setting during the most wonderful time of the year--Christmas! . . . I love everything Christmas and fully enjoyed this sweet, romantic, opposites attract Christmas story."

BookHounds - Excerpt

The worry in her friend’s warm brown eyes drew Alina’s concern. “What is it?”

“It’s another letter about them throwing us out.”

“What?” Alina rushed over to her mailbox. In her rush, she fumbled with her keys. They fell to the tile floor with a loud jangle.

Reading Excursions - Review

". . . I really loved it! . . . This was such an addicting little read that I kept wanting to turn the pages. Definitely an easy read. Fastest read “romance” line book!

Fans of the author, genre, and those who’ve read the first two books will more than likely enjoy this little read. I always enjoy Jennifer Faye’s books and look forward to reading them!"

Rockin' Book Reviews - Review

"This is a great Christmastime story! It is related to other similar themes, yet themes we all need to remember. Jennifer is a very talented author who always manages to captivate readers."

Wishful Endings - Excerpt

When he lifted his head, his gaze met hers. Her heart jolted in recognition. She would know those brown eyes anywhere. They were the same ones she’d stared into that very morning in the lobby of her building.

His dark brows drew together as unspoken questions flashed in his eyes. Apparently, she wasn’t the only one to remember their run-in. But why had he followed her here? Was he some sort of stalker? Worry sent her pulse racing.

Books and Zebras - Review

"This story is a fast easy to read stress reducer. Filled with charm, humor and warmth, Fairytale Christmas with The Millionaire reads like a lovely fairytale should, romance and conflict included. The characters are likeable and engaging, plus they show growth throughout the story."

Hallie Reads - Review

"Jennifer Faye’s Fairytale Christmas with the Millionaire is a charming, fun romance. This quick read offers a modern-day spin on Cinderella, and as Alina and Graham navigate the challenges that their circumstances present, it is enjoyable to see how it all seems to work together."

Splashes of Joy - Review

"I love Jennifer Faye’s sweet romance stories and this one is another awesome one that I enjoyed very much! Fairytale Christmas with the Millionaire is the perfect story to read during the Christmas Holidays. . . . The Fairytale feel to this story is amazing and I love the spin on [the] old fairy-tale Cinderella."

Melissa McClone - Excerpt

Graham hadn’t intended to spring a surprise attack. In fact, he’d been expecting her to recognize him. Perhaps he’d done too good of a job ducking the press since taking over as CEO. The truth was that he’d never wanted to live a public life, not like his father, who made the news regularly.

Christy's Cozy Corners - Review

"I know I’m constantly gushing over Jennifer Faye’s books, but there’s a reason…they’re amazing! Fairytale Christmas with the Millionaire really touched my heart. It’s filled with many sweet and touching moments, and I think it will touch your hearts too. . . . Fairytale Christmas with the Millionaire will keep you turning the pages and staying up until you reach the end. It’s that good. It’ll warm your heart and leave you with a smile on your face. I highly recommend it to all of you romance lovers!"

Pause for Tales - Review

"This is a contemporary story but I really enjoyed how the author brought in all of the elements of the fairy tale and wrapped it in a nice Christmas package as well. This was a heartwarming story of finding new love and new reasons to move on from the past and live in the present and hope for the future."

reviewingbooksplusmore - Review

"Alina was such a fun character. . . . Fairytale Christmas with the Millionaire is an excellent Christmas story."

Locks, Hooks and Books - Review

"What another delightful read by her. It was so very good. . . . I am giving Fairytale Christmas with the Millionaire a very well deserved five plus stars. I highly recommend it for readers who enjoy reading sweet and heartwarming romance, as well as, those that are set during the magical time of Christmas."

Harlie's Books - Review

"This book has all the feels. I laughed, swooned, got mad, and was in awe of Alina and Graham. Most don’t know that I’m a sucker for Cinderella stories. Cinderella is my all-time favorite Disney princess so this book is a win for me. It had the wicked stepfamily, the handsome prince, a fairy godfather, and a heroine with a heart of gold. But it also had the setting of New York City at Christmas so another score for me. The icing on the cake was that Ms. Faye was able to weave the classic story of Cinderella into a modern tale of hope, love, and above family with a twist. . . . It’s a joy to read."

QuirkyBookReads - Review

"Fairytale Christmas with the Millionaire is loosely based on Cinderella. It is descriptive, well written and easy to follow. The plot shares a heartwarming tale finding love around the Christmas season. . . . I would recommend reading Fairytale Christmas with the Millionaire . . ."

Teatime and Books - Excerpt

Graham moved to a small table. She followed, finding two black, thickly cushioned chairs placed on opposite ends of the small table. In the center was a white tapered candle. Its flame flickered. And there were two place settings of what looked to be real china. A private dinner for two?

Bookish Jottings - Review

"Jennifer Faye knocks it out of the park yet again with her enchanting Yuletide contemporary romance, Fairytale Christmas with the Millionaire. A wonderful storyteller who makes readers fall in love with her characters from the very first page, Jennifer Faye effortlessly blends humor, emotion, drama and intensity in a beguiling contemporary romance that is strictly irresistible. . . . A heart-warming, emotional and captivating contemporary romance, Jennifer Faye has another hit on her hands with Fairytale Christmas with the Millionaire."

Montana Wedding by Cari Lynn Webb

On Tour with Prism Book Tours

We hope you enjoyed the tour! If you missed any of the stops you'll find snippets, as well as the link to each full post, below:

Launch - Author Interview

I’m thrilled to be celebrating the release of my new book, Montana Wedding, book 5 in the continuity series, The Blackwell Sisters with Harlequin Heartwarming. Montana Wedding is a sweet contemporary romance that brings together doctor, Georgiana (Georgie) Harrison and rodeo star Zach Evans for an unforgettable Christmas. . .

Christy's Cozy Corners - Review

"Cari Lynn Webb has written another exceptional, page-turning book for clean romance lovers everywhere. . . . I love how Webb gives her characters such unique personalities and “issues” to deal with. Though I’ve never been in Georgie’s shoes or Zach’s saddle, I could feel their hurts coming through the pages of the book. And, yes, I cried. If you get immersed in books like I do, you’ll probably cry too! Those side characters that you might be unfamiliar with will get into your hearts. They’ll make you laugh and cry. Past hurts begin to mend, and that’ll make you cry too! In other words, be sure you’ve got the tissues handy.

I highly recommend this sweet, emotional book."

Hearts & Scribbles - Excerpt

But a rodeo cowboy could distract her family from her next career move. Stop right there, Georgiana Marie. Her mother’s inflexible tone had always halted Georgie’s unapproved science projects, rendering her theories unproved. “Are you any good?”

“Top ten calf roping and bronc riding in the country.” He shrugged as if being modest about the accomplishment.

Remembrancy - Review

"These two are complete opposites in so many ways, but they make a fantastic team when they put their heads together. And the attraction sizzles from early on even though they’re both intent on fighting it (we all know how well that will turn out).

I also loved all of the holiday cheer from the different trees to the ugly sweaters to the scavenger hunt (although, I would have liked to know which couple won that). Montana Wedding was a great way to end the series, but I sure hope we haven’t seen the last of the Blackwell clan."

Books & Benches - Excerpt

MY BOYFRIEND. GEORGIE just jumped in with both feet. Never mind that the last time she’d jumped in with both feet had been at summer camp in seventh grade. And she had ended up with a concussion and a broken arm. She strained to find her most convincing smile.

Beside her, Zach wheezed as if he choked on air. “Pleasure to meet you all.”

She was going to owe him. Big-time.

Library Lady's Kid Lit - Review

"When one of her sisters is getting married she convinces a male co-worker to attend with her and help her convince her family moving to work at a lab in London is the best thing for her. But, he doesn’t show up at the airport and Georgie has to come up with another plan. Cari Lynn Webb has crafted an enjoyable story."

Hallie Reads - Review

"I am here for all the fake-dating romances. This trope is a favorite and rarely lets me down, so of course, Cari Lynn Webb’s Montana Wedding is delightful. . . . The way they challenge each other and grow proves that their fake relationship could be exactly what they need. Add in plenty of holiday cheer, and their romance is charming, fun, and irresistible."

Cover Lover Book Review - Excerpt

“I worked hard,” Georgie said.

“That’s all you do.” Fee tipped her head and considered Georgie. Worry was etched in her face and clear in her words. “You work hard and harder still. Always focused on work and that next level.”

Georgie had goals to reach. That required focus and dedication. But had she missed out on the fun and games over the years? She shook her head. She wasn’t the carefree type. Never had been. Her sisters knew that. Yet she set her hand flat on the table as if she’d been knocked off balance.

Splashes of Joy - Review

"I love the main characters and she does an amazing joy of bringing back all of the family. Georgie and Zach are so different yet so well for each other. The chemistry between the two is just right! I totally enjoyed this fun and enjoyable entertainment!"

Rockin' Book Reviews - Review

"This is another great story set in Montana at the awesome Blackwell Ranch. I love the Blackwell family. . . . The characters are all well-developed and it is easy to feel their emotions. . . . I highly recommend this story to all readers. It has great life lessons and has a great romance also."

E-Romance News - Excerpt

“Then we’ll find something that does help.”

“We?” She lifted her gaze to his face.

“Yes, we. You and me.” Zach picked up the pot of honey from Hilda Pittman and swirled the wooden stick in the tea. “Honey is good for allergies, sore throats and stomach issues.”

“Is that right?” A smile broke through her hesitant tone.

Pause for Tales - Review

"Montana Wedding was a story that I thought would be a cute one about a fake date/boyfriend where the lead couples fall in love. It was that and more. Actually it was a deeper romance and a story that showed the importance of family."

Locks, Hooks and Books - Review

"Montana Wedding is getting a very well deserved five plus stars from me. I highly recommend it for readers who love clean romance. I was excited to find out that it is part of a series, The Blackwell Sisters, and I will be looking forward to reading those to find out what happened previously to this one."

Reading Is My SuperPower - Review

"The whole family (Harrisons & Blackwells & significant others) come together for this final book in the series, and boy howdy there’s a lot of ’em. The result is a big, crazy, wonderful mix of people and personalities and laughter and love. Throw in Christmas and you have the perfect ratio of family shenanigans to yummy goodies to romantic moments. . . . Montana Wedding is the ideal send-off for this Blackwell series – and maybe we could hope for some other unknown Blackwell offspring from these authors in the future?"

Heidi Reads... - Excerpt

“Georgie, you want to come with us?” Grace asked.

Georgie shook her head. “I think I’ll stay and explore, if you don’t mind.”

Zach minded. Very much. He’d be alone with Georgie. Again. And every time he was alone with her, he spilled more truths. Revealed parts of his life he’d never wanted to share. Every time he was alone with Georgie, the lines blurred, and he forgot he was only supposed to be pretending to like her.

Getting Your Read On - Review

"There were so many things happening in this story! The winter/Christmas setting lends itself to lots of fun family Christmas traditions and troublesome weather. There is the return of an estranged father, the birth of babies and the reconnecting of sisters. It was easy to get wrapped up in the holiday feel with the idyllic setting and warm family bonds. This is a great book to read during this month of December."

Beauty in the Binding - Excerpt

“I thought you could use these as gifts for your sisters.” Zach cleared his throat. “Or not. They’re old glass jars. Probably chipped and cracked. Need to be cleaned.”

She reached up, placed her hand on his cheek.

Her warm, soft touch stalled his rambling and his heart.

Reading Excursions - Review

"Realistic, dramatic, funny at times, and realistically told, this was one of the fastest read Heartwarming novels I ever read. . . . Fans of the author and genre, plus those who’ve read the previous three novels might enjoy this last book of the series."

Blue Moon Banner

About the Book

Book: Blue Moon

Author: Jenny Knipfer

Genre: Historical Fiction

Release Date: September 27, 2019

BlueMoon-front

By the Light of the Moon series:
Readers who love being trapped in a character’s mind should relish this finely written, gripping series. A must read for fans of historical fiction.”–The Prairies Book Review

A tale of precious things more rare than a blue moon…

The year is 1885 and unwed Vanessa Gulet must surrender her newborn son to her married twin sister, Valerie, to raise. A seed of bitterness grows in Vanessa. When the opportunity arises for her to have what she’s always wanted, Vanessa takes it despite the consequences to her family, getting more than she bargained for.

Meanwhile, Valerie, overcome with loss and grief, faces a diagnosis of multiple sclerosis. Will she and her husband, Felix, forge through their trials together, or will these upsets cause them to drift apart?

Will Vanessa and Valerie remain at odds, or will they allow the power of forgiveness to heal their strained relationship?

Love seems to bloom in the most unlikely of places in Webaashi Bay for an old friend of Jenay’s and a woman who owns the local dress shop. A parallel tale of love, forgiveness, and reuniting lost things is spun by a local author adding another dimension to the tale of the Gulet twins and their saga.

Fans of historical fiction, Christian historical fiction, clean romance, and literary fiction will enjoy this dramatic read!

I love the cover of this book, the book cover is why I wanted to read the book, and it didn't disappoint! I thoroughly enjoyed this historical read from author Jenny Knipfer, though sometimes it was a difficult read because of the circumstances. Vanessa is not married and was forced by her dad to give up her baby to her sister. I can not even imagine how difficult this has to be. And I can surely understand the bitterness. There is a good amount of stuff going on in this book but I had no problems. It made for a different more entertaining read for me. This is a book I think anyone who enjoys a good clean historical fiction will love this one. I'm giving Blue Moon a solid four stars!!

A special thanks to the author/publisher for a copy of this book. I am not required to write a positive review, the opinions here are mine alone. I am disclosing this with my review in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255.

More from Jenny

In Blue Moon I play off a minor character from Ruby Moon, Vanessa Gulet. When Ruby Moon ended, I started wondering what Vanessa’s life had been like, rejected by Renault, her old flame who had promised her his devotion.

Vanessa’s story grew along with Valerie’s, her identical twin sister. Asking the question of what could divide twin siblings drew me deep into the drama of the Gulet sisters, and a story of desire and loss sprang from my imagination.

An even richer depth occurred when I brought the main character from Ruby Moon, Jenay, into the thick of the twins’ saga. Vanessa must come to grips with what really happened to Renault and who was involved. Will she forgive the past and the unintentional wrongs committed and embrace the new friend she has made or not?

Also, I wrote from experience in Blue Moon, as Valerie must face the diagnosis of multiple sclerosis and how to live with the fear of the unknown shadowing her life. It was therapeutic for me to write some of my own feeling and thoughts through Valerie. Journaling has always been a way for me to manage my emotions, and writing via story form was no different. Chances are you either know someone with MS or know of someone with MS. The disease is very prevalent in the U.S., and through Blue Moon I want to draw some awareness to what I and many people live with every day.

I hope in Blue Moon that the theme of forgiveness will encourage readers through their own struggles and believe that choosing to forgive is always the better choice, often bringing unforeseen blessings.

Thank you for taking the time to read a little about Blue Moon and its origin! I hope you get a chance to read it and the twins’ tale of forgiveness. If you do, please let me know, and please leave a review.

Blessings, J

P.S. Did you know I include a recipe pertaining to the story in most of my books? In Blue Moon, I include an old family favorite: butter tarts. Lily, a daughter of the man Vanessa meets and is drawn to in Webaashi Bay, loves butter tarts. Vanessa and Lily make them together. Following is the recipe.

Lily’s Butter Tart

1 C sugar

¼ C softened butter or butter substitute

2 eggs

juice of half a lemon

½ C golden raisins

½ C sweetened shredded coconut

Your favorite pie crust recipe for one 9” crust

Cream butter and sugar. Add eggs and lemon juice. Beat well. By hand mix in the raisins and coconut. Line pastry tin with pie crust and fill with mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes or until set.

I based this recipe from an old one of my grandmother’s from the late 1800’s. NOTE:  You can also cut rounds of pie crust to fill muffin tins to make smaller tarts. (Lily’s style) I make the one dish version because it’s less fuss.
