MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK
Bob the Banana Goes Bad is the cutest book about a banana waiting for someone to finally pick him to eat. Along with his friends, some of them being Burnie the Big Bagel, who is the mayor, or Arvid the apple and Patrick the Potato. Meet these friends and more in this beautiful book.
The refrigerator is full of fruits and vegetables just waiting their turn to be picked to eat. None of them wants to stay until they are gone bad. No one wants to be left out. This is such a cute way of teaching children how important each of them is. I love the beautiful colors, the blue cover with Bob the Banana is so pretty. Juan Dias does an amazing job with creating the cover and each of these quirky and fun items in the refrigerator. The expressions on each face is just so adorable. This is a book that any child will want to read over and over. I highly recommend this book to any child's library and the library of any school, daycare, preschool, and anywhere children will be.
A special thanks to the author/publisher for a copy of this book. I am not required to write a positive review, the opinions here are mine alone. I am disclosing this with my review in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255.
Now stay tuned for an interesting interview with authors
- What is the message in the story that you would like to convey to the readers?
- I want kids to learn that when things seem bad, they shouldn’t just give up hope. They always have the support from their friends, and in the end, things might end up better than they thought.
- Is this a personal message to you and why?
- I too, have experienced times where I thought things seemed bad in my life, but I held onto hope and things got better.
- Other than writing, do you have any other creative talents?
- For me, music is another creative outlet. I was drawn to music when I was very young and went on to study it in school and perform with many groups over the years.
- How long have you been writing?
- I only recently resumed my love of creative writing in recent years when my family urged me to publish Bob the Banana. Before that, I enjoyed writing throughout grade school, though it took a back seat to music from college until now.
- What do you enjoy about writing the most?
- I enjoy the creative process of putting my thoughts and visions on paper. Seeing it come to fruition in the end is the best part.
- Will this be a series, or more?
- I plan for Bob the Banana to be a series and I’m already working on the second book.
Meet the Authors:
Steve Petzinger first created the concept for Bob the Banana when he was just twelve years old. His mother kept the original version, and over the years, his family urged him to publish it. In 2020, he decided to finally take their advice.
Petzinger sought help from his close friend, Selia Akbar-Hussain, who has been teaching preschool for eight years. She has read hundreds of children’s books and is knowledgeable about children’s books content. After months of hard work, their dreams of publishing a children's book came true.
