A Love Made New By Kathleen Fuller

A Love Made New
By Kathleen Fuller

Book Description

Abigail Schrock knows God can make all things new, but does that include her broken heart?
It seems as if everyone is falling in love in Birch Creek, including Abigail Schrock. But when heartbreak descends on her already fragile world, she can’t help but feel that if she’d only been a little prettier, she could be on her way down the wedding aisle. To make matters worse, Abigail’s two sisters have found love, while all Abigail can seem to find is the chocolate she has stashed away in the pantry.
Asa Bontrager has never had trouble with the ladies in his Amish community—his good looks have always gotten him far. Which is why he’s baffled by the call he’s received from God to pursue Abigail, a woman who seems determined to turn him away.
Can Abigail find the peace and joy she so desperately desires? Will she allow herself to stop running and melt into the embrace of unforeseen comfort? If she does, she may just discover a love powerful enough to lift the heavy burden of grief weighing her down and restore her hope in a promising future.

My Review

Abigail Schrock's life is just not going as she wants it to. After being away from home for six weeks taking care of her sister, she can't wait to get home to her beau, Joel. Boy was she surprised, shocked and hurt to find out that Joel has fell for someone else while she was away. I felt so bad for Abigail. I love her character so much. I found myself hurting with her, and wanting her to find someone worthy of her. And then there is Asa Bontrager,, who thinks that no women will turn him away. But this is just what Abigail does. Will this Amish young lady ever find the joy and love that she is looking for?

I love the way Kathleen Fuller weaves her stories together to make them just like real life. When I finished this book, I felt like I had a new friend is Abigail! The setting, the characters, and the vivid details throughout this book keeps your interest, and you want to keep reading. This is such a sweet and beautiful Amish story. Though Abigail was so determined to have what she wanted, God had other plans for her. Plans that would make her happier that she ever thought. She just needed to let go and let God have first place in her situation. If you are an Amish fan, you don't want to miss this one.
