In “Arms of Love,” Kelly Longs writes an
Amish story with a few different twists that some of the other Amish stories I
have read. Set in 1777, during the Revolution, the issues Ms. Long deals with
here are difficult real life issues. Even though the love between Adam Wyse and
Lena Yoder was deep and strong, they still found it difficult sometime to deal
with issues they had to face with the family and pressures of life. It was
interesting to see how they struggled to deal with the issues and difficulties
that came their way. I grew to love these and the other characters as I
continued to read this book.
Overall, this was a very nice read, though it did take me a while to get interested in the story, but after that, the flowed very well for me. I encourge those who like Amish fiction to grab a copy of “Arms of Love” to read and enjoy for themselves.
