MY REVIEW
I am a fan of historical fiction, so I wanted to review this book, and this is my first read from Lori Benton, so I had a double treat. Ms. does an amazing job describing the historical setting. And this setting was especially interesting for me because I love reading books about the very beginning of America, during the 1759 to 1776 era. It was interesting to read about people who were actually there. And event though this is fiction, the way Ms. Benton writes the story, describing each scene in full detail, it made me as a reader feel like I was experiencing these times with these great characters. And I loved the characters and felt with them as they went through so many difficult trials. And I especially appreciate the love, redemption, forgiveness, grace and peace of our Lord so very well explained in this story. People who do not attend church or read their Bibles may read this book, and they will sure learn about Jesus.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:
Lori Benton spent her late teens and early twenties pursuing a career as a wildlife artist, attending the Maryland College of Art & Design before she began painting professionally. When not writing or researching, Lori can be found exploring the mountains of southern Oregon with her husband, Brian. Lori’s first novel, Burning Sky was nominated as an ECPA 2014 Christian Book Award Finalist and also received double nominations for 2014 Christy Awards. The Pursuit of Tamsen Littlejohn is her second novel.
