MY REVIEW
Across the Blue is set in Edwardian England in the early 1900's and an interesting story about early aviators and the first flight across the English Channel. Being a daughter of a wealthy English newspaper owner, Bella Grayson is more interesting in writing for her fathers paper than marrying a wealthy suitor like her parents want her to do. When James Drake lands his plane on the property of Bella's parents, Bella became more interested, and decided to write an article in secret the see if her father and his editor liked her writing.
I immediately liked James and Bella. James was young and trying his best to be the first one to fly across the English channel, and Bella acted like a normal person to him, instead of the way her rich family acted. The excitement was very high as those who had built the planes and were in the running for the title. And for more information on who else was running and when they did, well you need to read the book to find out. Otherwise, the excitement will be gone if you know what happens.
I will have to say that I did not completely read this entire book. I dropped out about 3/4's the way though. The reason being, I had an ARC to read, and there were a ton of mistakes and typos. It got to the place of being very annoying. I understand an ARC is the uncorrected copy, but I usually find the mistakes very minimal. For a big publisher, and a big author, I was very surprised and disappointed.
However, this is a very good story, and if you are purchasing the book, then you will get the new edited version so your story will be amazing! and I highly recommend this book.
