The Corruptible By Mark Mynheir…..Book Review
Ray Quinn, ex-homicide detective seems to always be getting himself into trouble, so partner Crevis has to always watch his back. Because of an injury while he was a detective, he had to retire from the force and is now a private investigator. He receives a phone call from businessman Armon Mayer wanting to hire him to find an ex-cop employee who ran off with important private information about his clients from his business firm. He takes the job, and he and partner Crevis starts on an unbelieveable manhunt to recover this information. But is Mayer being honest with Ray and telling him everything about the situation? The price he offers the PI and his partner Crevis seems like a lot of money to recover information only. Being an ex-cop himself, Quinn pulls every string in the book to obtain all of the information he can about the case. But will he find enough to solve his case and recover the computer files and the satchel ex-cop Logan was seen carrying in the shot the surveillance camera picked up of him leaving the building? You will be on the edge of your seats as Quinn strives to find this guy and the information for Mayer. Nothing Ray Quinn does is an easy go, and this case is no different.
In The Corruptible, Mark Mynheir uses his expertise as a retired cop, S.W.A.T team member, and a homicide detective to make this story about as real life as it can get. With the bathroom situation at the very beginning of the book, I immediately knew I was going to like this book. I rather like suspense novels, and this one didn’t disappoint me. I am usually pretty good at figuring out the outcome, but I was stumped in this one until Ray figured out the last lead that took him so long to figure out. This was some good writing by the author. I liked the characters and especially Ray, with his sharp mind, quick wit and positive attitude. And the teamwork between Ray and Travis was great. The other characters and their personality fit with the story as well. The author did a great job with the entire book as far as I am concerned.
I received this book free from Waterbrook Multnomah blogging for books program. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 55.
