Tip toe, tip toe, crackle, crunch!

“Chipper Makes Merry” takes you on Chipper’s arctic quest filled with lessons of love, kindness and determination.
MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK
It is a cold winter in Artic Land, the howling wind brings its freezing cold breeze around the homes of the forest animals, and the snow makes it hard for them to find food to eat. Poor Gus and Scout are having such a hard time that Chipper the Fox decides to Make them Merry to help them out. But poor Fox seems to mess up everything. Then he has an idea, and he wants the help of his friends Gus and Scout. And you need to read the book to find out what this big surprise is!
To say I love book doesn't do justice to it. Chipper Makes Merry is an adorable children's book that teaches children the importance of helping others in need. And what a clever idea to use a fox to teach such a valuable lesson. Kimber Fox Morgan does an amazing job writing this special book. The words are fun and easy to read for the older child. And the illustrations by Kim Sponaugle are so very adorable your children will love looking at the pictures. Each page is filled with winter, snow covered forest ground and I love the way Morgan makes some of the words so much fun. Children will not only learn the valuable lesson of helping others, they have the beautiful illustrations to view any time they want. Kimber Fox Morgan and Kim Sponaugle work so well together, I hope to review more books by these two in the near future. This special book is a must to read to children during the cold winter days. I think Chipper Makes Merry is a must for daycare, kindergarten and young elementary classrooms, as well as elementary school libraries. I would love to see a copy of this book in any Doctor or Dentist office. Wouldn't that be neat?
A special thanks to the author/publisher for a copy of this book. I am not required to write a positive review, the opinions here are mine alone. I am disclosing this with my review in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255.
INTERVIEW POST FROM THE AUTHOR
Chipper Makes Merry by Kimber Fox Morgan
- How did you come up with the idea for your book? Chipper the Arctic Fox, the main character in Chipper Makes Merry, was developed as a character in a holiday kit for busy parents to help bring joy into people’s homes during the holiday season. In addition, every year I have a Merry Making Celebration on Christmas Eve morning. I invite and challenge family and friends to spend two hours in the community giving back to others and doing random acts of kindness. After that, everyone gathers at my home for a Merry Making Celebration! It’s a great tradition of gracious giving, before all the “getting”. It’s a beloved tradition. Chipper Makes Merry takes Chipper on the same sort of adventure, spreading kindness to his friends.
- In today’s tech savvy world, most writers use a computer or laptop. Have you ever written parts of your books on paper? While I do write on a laptop (I’m a Windows/Surface Pro girl), I do keep a notebook in my purse and in my car. I always seem to come up with sayings, lines, titles of books when I’m alone and can think, which is mostly in the car. However, I don’t write and drive, so I do sometimes voice text my thoughts into my phone and text them to myself.
- What is the last great book you’ve read? American Dirt by Jeanine Cummins. I know there was controversy surrounding this book, however, I loved it and it really opened my eyes to something I knew nothing about. I did not want the book to end, which is always a good sign.
- What inspires your writing? My kids! Kids are funny. Parenting is hard, but so much fun. I’m creative, but not crafty. I love a homemade Halloween costume and working on a school project. All these experiences influence what and how I write. The kids are a constant source of material and writing prompts!
- What is the future of the characters? Will there be a sequel? Chipper the Fox will continue his quest to spread joy to others! I am working on a second book now in a different setting and am hoping to incorporate Marta, Gus, and Scout as well. But I think he will make some new friends along the way.

Meet the Author:
Morgan is a fun wife, and imperfect mom of 3 crazy kiddos and 2 little lemon (problematic) dogs. She tries to live her strengths the best she can. She likes to say she is creative, not crafty. Morgan is a homemade Halloween costume type of mom. She lets her kids mix the play doh. She bakes fun birthday cakes (cutely, but far from perfection). She loves a homemade valentine and a school project. Chipper the Fox is an extension of Morgan's creative strength. Originally designed as character to create merry during the holiday season, Chipper has grown and developed into a story of determination and love.
