My Review:
Max Lucado’s newest book, Max on Life is a book complied of answers and insights to the most important questions the author has been ask during his ministry. It is broken down into 7 different sections. These sections are: Hope; Hurt; Help; Him/Her; Home; Haves/Have-Nots; Hereafter. Some of the topics he covers is: How can I trust that God is powerful enough to take care of me; What can I tell the parents of a seven year old boy that died?; I was born to worry, What advise can you give us fretters about worrying? There are so many more topics he deals with, lots and lots of questions people ask everyday.
And this is just a tip of the iceberg. Just a teaser to let you know what you will have if you purchase this book.  Some of the questions did pertain to me, but in general, the book was wisely written. I feel the author carefully chose the questions that would benefit the most people reading the book. And some of the questions will be a help to everyone. This is a great reference book to have on your shelves. We all need books that we can flip through for answers to questions from time to time. This is one of those books. Max Lucado is one of my favorite authors. I love is writings; they are easy to read and understand, yet a very helpful tool to help us in our daily lives as we live for Christ. I would recommend Max on Life to everyone!

Book Review by: Andy Anderws

The one thing that David Ponder cherishes most is gone, and that is his wife. No matter what happened in their life, they always had each other. As he sits and ponders about whats happened in his life, he only wants to go to his wife, in Heaven with her Lord. Then something happens….the Archangel Gabriel appears to him, telling him that he is still needed here on earth. So Gabriel and David, along with hundreds of his travelers come together to try and figure out something that will save humanity. Some of these travelers include Winston Churchill, Joan of Arc, Anne Frank, Christopher Columbus, George Washington Carver along with many other leaders throughout history.  David will have the opportunity to speak to these leaders to ask them the question of what it would take to help humanity, while there is still time.
This is a book of much history and wisdom. Being a history buff, I loved this book. The author is taking us back in time, with all of the leaders of history, including those of Bible times. Though he really doesn’t mention things like salvation, or present the gospel.
If you love history, this book is a must read. Andy Andrews is a gifted writer, and you will enjoy all of the historical people as his characters in The Final Summit. It’s like taking a step back into a great time in our world.

These practical ideas and supporting scriptures will inspire believers to become true followers of Christ.

My Review
When I first saw the title to this book, I started thinking of 3 word sentences that would describe ways we can live like Jesus, and I didn’t come up with very many at all!! This book is awesome, and the author did a wonderful job of complying these short sentences, which his friend called threeology theology, and the scriptures and discussions that go with them.  I am fascinated with just learning all of the sentences. A huge list of resources in a little small book!
This book is very nice and helpful. Each of the three word sentences are followed by a paragraph and a few Bible verse references which encourage and explain what the author is wanting you to understand.
This book can be used in many different ways. It would be a great devotional, a good source for church workers and Sunday School teachers, youth workers, and even childrens ministry workers. It would be great for parents to teach your children ways to live like Jesus that makes it simple for them to understand.

Gods Wisdom for Mothers

I just love this little book of God’s Wisdom for Mothers. The author takes verses throughout the Bible that would have a special interest in the lives of Mothers and organizes them in categories and then sub-categories of the subject so mothers can have the verses at hand when needed.  The NKJV of the Bible is used in this book.
The Categories are: God’s Wisdom; The Crown of an Excellent Mother; God’s Wisdom with Children; God Teaches a Mother to Walk in His Word by; God Delights in Mothers Who Are; God Walks with Mothers; God Encourages each Mother to; God Teaches a Mother How to; God Gives a Mother… There are 3 to 10 subjects in each category, giving a wide variety of subjects to choose from.
Though I would never substitute this book or any other book for the Bible, I do appreciate books like this to help find verses pertaining to what a person is going through quickly. It is very well organized and would be a great resource for any mother.  It would also make a very nice gift!
Though my son is now grown, I enjoyed reading the verses, and look forward to using this book many times in the future. I think it is a book that would be used by any mother, or even grandmother of any age.

Embrace Grace by Liz Curtis Higgs

Embrace Grace by Liz Curtis Higgs
Do you sometimes feel you just don’t belong anywhere, or always feel like you are missing something? Can God really love us after everything we have done, and just how can we really know that He has forgiven us? Does this all seem so overwhelming to you that you just don’t want to talk about it? Pick up a copy of Embrace Grace and see what Liz Curtis Higgs says about God’s Grace, and what it can do for us.

Liz wants us to grab grace and embrace it with both arms. Grace doesn’t come from our doing good works, or trying to live perfect lives. Grace comes from first repenting of the sins in our lives, and giving our lives totally to the Lord. As we do this, God can use us where ever we are, but we have to allow Him to.

Embrace Grace is about how we can fully know the Grace of our Wonderful God! It would be a great Bible Study for a Sunday School class or Study Group.  I would recommend it to any woman who wants to fully know God’s Grace.

Breaking Free Day by Day by Beth Moore

Breaking Free Day by Day by: Beth Moore
Beth Moore is one of my favorite authors. And her Bible Studies are awesome! And so are her Devotionals. This one goes along with her book, Breaking Free. Satan is happy if we are so wrapped up in the difficult times in life, in thinking God can’t use someone like me, we are just so wrapped up in our troubles, and we seem to never be free of them. In this devotional, Beth Moore guides through a year of day by day topic that will help us break free from the bonds that satan holds on us. A small little book that will fit right in your purse. Topics in this are mostly for women.
One of the verses in the book is: May the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way. 2 Thessalonians 3:16. Holman Christian Standard Bible.  And that is what this entire book is about. For God to give you peace, always in every way. Breaking free and being able to live our lives entirely for our Lord.
This is another devotional I would encourage every women to purchase. You won’t be disappointed. Anywhere you open the book; you will find a verse with an explanation from Beth to help you through

Hope for Each Day

Hope for Each Day by Billy Graham
I love devotionals, and this one is as good as any of them I have. The book is small, a pretty off white and beautiful sunset. In this book, Billy Graham has given us 365 devotionals on Hope. One for each day of the year.
Some of the topics are:
Power for Life
Come Boldly
A Spring for the Soul
Suffering and Success
Life Plus Love
We Can Count On Him
Our Stubborn Wills
The Highest Calling
And I could go on and on. Wonderful topics for us. And the great thing about the book is that if you have other devotionals, you can use this as a resource. If you need something on a certain topic, just flip through the book and find what you need.
I would recommend this to anyone, I don’t think we can have enough books with so many topics. I go to it from time to time when I need answers.
