MY THOUGHTS ON THIS BOOK
When I read the title of this book, Grace Under Siege, Not A Love Story, I wondered what it meant. Now I know that this is definitely not a Love story. It is a story of domestic abuse. I like the way René Voland tackles this devastating issue that is so intense and very emotional. The faith running through the story gives hope that with God, you are not alone at any time, and you can call on Him. Voland creates characters that develop well and are realistic enough that readers can relate. Sadly domestic abuse is not only in a fiction book, it's in real life, and I like the tips in the book that can help other get through their issues. Grace Under Siege is well written and the details show how much research went into this story. If you are going through an abuse relationship, this would be a good book to read. Or if you know someone in this situation, gift them a copy. This one is getting Four Stars from me.
René is an author, playwright, poet and publisher/editor. She is a seasoned business owner, private coach and ministerial leader. Grace Under Siege is her debut novel. She and her spouse live in Georgia. She is a graduate of Georgia State University.
